Bengal Tiger: The Striped Majesty

The Bengal tiger, the most numerous of all tiger subspecies, is an icon of power and beauty. Found primarily in India, these tigers are apex predators, hunting deer, wild boar, and even water buffalo.

Bengal tigers are solitary creatures, marking their territories with scratches on trees and scent markings. They are also strong swimmers, often cooling off in rivers and lakes. However, human encroachment and poaching have dramatically reduced their numbers. Conservation efforts, including India’s Project Tiger, have been successful in stabilizing their populations in certain areas.
